Air make up is the term that describes where a spray enclosure gets the air it uses.
These units can be non-heated, heated, heated and air conditioned, heated and air conditioned and humidified.
Non-Heated air make up units supply ambient air at the existing temperature. It does not heat, cool or change the humidity of this air.
Heated air make up heats the ambient air allowing surface coating in cold temperature and accelerating drying in the cure phase.
Heated, air conditioned and humidified unit:
- Cools hot air during spray and controls the high air humidity
- Heats cold air during spray and cure and also can add humidity if necessary
The above systems also can help waterborne coatings cure (See "Waterborne Systems" page.
